Wedding Day As I See It

So, as many of you know, we got married about 3 weeks ago. YEAH! Wedding day was as perfect as could be… although come to think of it, I really don’t remember as much of it as I would have liked. Breakfast in the morning… then nails… then getting ready for like 4 hours! Phew! But seriously, 4:00 hit, and the rest was sort of a blur.

The wedding started around 7:00, and Roger and I were out taking pictures until the very LAST second, causing us to try to sneak in the building. I was trying to hide behind my photographers only to be informed (after I was already in the building) that there was a back entrance. HA! Anyway… I get upstairs with veil in place, and I could hear the quartet already playing moonlight sonata! That was crazy, because that meant I was next!!

Throughout the ceremony, I just felt like Greg, Roger and I were the only ones in the room. It was wonderful- the connection and emotion in the room. Perfect. I remember balling my eyes out and choking on my vows, but feeling like that was ok, because I was just in the moment, and feeling it fully. I remember hearing the room full of 140 people sniffling right along with me, and Roger, being the tough one, only getting a little misty- and putting on a brave face. I love his face.

Then we were announced Husband and Wife… and seriously, the rest is a real blur! People were just coming up to us all night, wanting to give their congrats… and all we wanted was to sit down for a second and eat! If I had it to do over, I would have had a sit down meal JUST so I could have SAT for more that 4 seconds, and eaten more than 4 bites.

Not to say it wasn’t a blast though, although, I was REALLY tired… I’m not sure what time it was, but I had had enough and decided to tell the DJ only one more song- When You Say Nothing At All… My personal favorite- dedicated to my loving husband.

After this, we were ready to bolt, but realized a few of the groomsmen FORGOT about their duties!! Craig was supposed to collect all the tuxes, but Roger was still in his, and Craig had left about 20 minutes after the ceremony had ended- what was that about!?! Anyway, Ethan (my bro) took that job on- good kid. AND gifts were still stacked up in the room, which Uncle Leonard (best man) was supposed to have loaded up and taken  to our house. He also left about 40 mins. after the ceremony was over… sigh. Kim some how got all of it (and there was a lot, a month later I am STILL writing thank you notes!) in her car- a Honda mind you!

When we finally left, we were both pooped. The car had been decorated by my lovely bridesmaids with pink and purple car paint… “Just Married”, “Roger and Rachel”, and… “Babies”…?? WHAT!? No… not yet team! ;)

We made it to the hotel, and well, that’s where my story ends friends. The rest- is well- none of your beeswax! ;)

Next time- I’ll tell you about married life so far.
